“Summertime and the living is easy.”
Summer is here in Downtown Northville and like the sun, we are beaming! What better way to enjoy the Vitamin D bursting out of the sun’s rays than a relaxing afternoon or exciting night on the town than in the heart of the “Ville.” Either way the city is alive and waiting to show you a good time.
We’ve put together a week’s worth of ways to soak up the sun and all that Northville has to offer:
Sunday: Sundays were made for shopping and Downtown Northville has you covered. So, pack your bag, put on your
comfy shoes and grab your latte because you’ve got over 75 shops, boutiques and galleries to choose from. While
you’re exploring, be sure to take in the town’s beautiful historic architecture and landscaping that showcases its
hometown charm with a modern city twist. Happy shopping!
Monday: Get pumped, It’s garage sale season! If searching for steals and deals is one of your favorite pastimes during
the summer, then you won’t want to miss the Northville’s Annual Gigantic Garage Sale Fundraiser held the first full week in June, Monday to Friday from 9am until 9pm daily. All proceeds will benefit The Mackinac Island Girl Scouts and the Northville Historical Society. Happy hunting! Remember, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure!
Tuesday: What screams summer more than treating yourself to the velvety, cool, sweet indulgence of ice cream?
Get your fix at Northville’s Favorite Ice Cream Shoppe, Custard Time. In business for nearly 40 years, the parlor knows a
thing or two about cold treats. With a wide variety of menu options including: frozen custard, frozen yogurt, slushies,
glaciers, shakes and malts, there is a little something for everyone’s sweet tooth.
Wednesday: Free. Family. Fun. The Unplugged Acoustic music series covers all those bases! Every Wednesday from 7-
9PM, starting at the end of May, concert performances featuring acoustic music ranging from jazz to Rock to Acapella
will headline the stage in the town square. Appealing to all ages, this is a guaranteed good time on a warm summer’s
evening. Covid-19 update: Concerts are cancelled, however, some downtown restaurants are featuring live musicians on their sidewalks.
Thursday: Where else can you get farm fresh fruits and veggies for your favorite summer salad while getting a pair of
Jasper Stone earrings for your favorite aunt? The Northville Farmer’s Market of course. Shopping with #puremichigan
vendors is a great way to spend the afternoon giving back and enjoying the sites, music and good food the community
has to offer.
Friday: Culture and cocktails is a great way to spend a fine summer evening in the city. The First Friday Experience
offers just that. On the first Friday of every month the merchants of Downtown Northville welcome you to browse their
galleries and boutiques. You’ll be greeted with featured artists, trunk shows, demonstrations, and specialty products as
you stroll along the picturesque streets. Once you’ve had your fill of art, you can relax with a cocktail at one of the many
bars and restaurants this charming town has to offer.
Saturday: Start your day indulging in a gourmet latte or cappuchino & a flaky almond croissant at Red Dot Coffee, one of our neighbors here on Center Street. A family-owned business, Red Dot Coffee Company caters to a broad customer base in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
